Plant Sensational!® in full sun in any, well-drained soil. Lavandula Sensational!® is a great addition to the perennial border, the rock garden, or in a pot on terrace or balcony. It is also great for landscaping and mass planting. Because of the strong flower stems it can also be used for fresh or dry cut flowers.
Lavender prefers mild Mediterranean or Pacific temperatures to thrive: cool to warm days and cool evenings with low humidity in sunny locations make the plant excel. Most lavender is not long-lived in warm to hot, humid summers and cold-winter environments. Wet, poorly-draining soil and high humidity conditions with poor air movement are the demise of lavender plants and often will lead to decline.
Lavender does not like to be mulched - it keeps the moisture levels too high and leads to rot. Overwintering success of lavender is determined by the size of the root system before the plant goes dormant.
